Podocarpus can be evergreen shrubs or trees, with spirally arranged leaves which may be linear or narrowly lanceolate. Found in the wild in Chile where conversion from natural to plantation forest has seen a substantial decline in the population size and distribution.

Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery Podocarpus 'County Park Fire' is a very interesting dwarf conifer changing from green-bronze in autumn to dark reddish in winter to spectacular pinky-orange with new shoots in spring and summer.
