They are found across the northern hemisphere, as a major constituent of the boreal forest above and below the Arctic Circle southwards down the main mountain chains of Europe, North America and Asia.

Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery, Picea pungens 'Oldenburg' is a slow-growing dwarf conifer forming a globose plant with very short needles.
