The trunk is single or multi-stemmed, often branching from the base, forming a conical or pyramid crown. The beaches are spreading or ascending, occasionally rooting and forming new trunks.

Propagated at Lime Cross Nursery. Thuja plicata 'Copper Kettle' is a dwarf, variegated Western Red Cedar selection. New foliage on this upright tree is yellow to orange.
