Native to Japan where they are revered as the national tree. Cryptomeria Japonica are large evergreen trees with attractive red-brown bark and dense foliage consisting of short awl-shaped leaves arranged spirally around the branchlets; cones are spherical.

Details
Cryptomeria japonica ‘Yoshino' is a fast growing conical evergreen tree with soft spirally arranged awl-shaped bright lime-green foliage, turning slightly brown in winter. Eventually makes a medium sized tree, but can be easily pruned to keep it smaller. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
