Cedrus is a genus of coniferous trees in the plant family Pinaceae. They are native to the mountains of the western Himalayas and the Mediterranean region, occurring at altitudes of 1,500–3,200m in the Himalayas and 1,000–2,200m in the Mediterranean. These large evergreen trees have needle-like leaves arranged spirally on young shoots, and in whorls on short spur-like side-shoots; ovoid cones break up to release the seeds while still attached to the tree.

Cedrus deodara 'Helen' (named after one of Jon Tate’s daughter’s founder of Lime Cross Nursery) is a beautiful evergreen Himalayan Cedar with gently weeping pendulous branches. It doesn't grow too large, so it suits all gardens and brings low maintenance year-round structure. Hand grafted and propagated at Lime Cross Nursery.
